Fans tuning in to see the Kansas City Chiefs at Dallas Cowboys for Thursday’s Thanksgiving game were convinced broadcaster CBS mixed up Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes.
The bizarre moment occured when Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce scored a first quarter touchdown, reeling in a two-yard pass from Mahomes to give his team a 14-7 lead.
But curiously, as Kelce danced away in celebration in the end zone, the cameras quickly cut to Mahomes’ wife Brittany in a VIP suite who was celebrating with her children.
The camera then abruptly cut away from Brittany, which led to plenty of fans thinking the broadcaster had either mistakenly thought that Swift was Mahomes, or that Swift would be there with her close friend. The singer was not at Thursday’s game.
‘They thought they was showing Taylor Swift at the game and saw it was Patrick Mahomes wife they switched that camera so quick,’ one fan quickly tweeted.
Another wrote: ‘The producer was so disappointed to cut to the suite and see Brittany Mahomes, and not Taylor Swift, they cut away after 0.5 seconds.’

Kelce scored a first quarter touchdown for the Chiefs but they ended up losing to the Cowboys
A different viewer posted: ‘Cameraman wanted to show us Taylor Swift so bad but had to settle for Mrs. Mahomes.’
But Kelce’s fiancee wasn’t at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas and hasn’t been at a Chiefs road game for over a year, Super Bowl aside.
And for all concerned with the Chiefs, wherever they were watching the game, it ended up as a disappointing Thanksgiving showdown with the team losing 31-28.
It leaves the Chiefs, last year’s Super Bowl runners up, on 6-6 for the season and with a mountain to climb to reach the playoffs.
They likely have to win all of their remaining five games to make the postseason, and it’s a demanding schedule that lays before Mahomes and his men.
Next Sunday, they host Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium and then meet AFC West rivals Los Angeles Chargers at home on Dec 14.
On Dec. 21, they travel to Nashville to take on Tennessee Titans, who currently have the worst record in the NFL.
On Christmas Day, they host the impressive Denver Broncos and round out of the season aaginst the struggling Las Vegas Raiders.
