Winter Olympics star Eileen Gu has gone viral online after fans claimed to have found her dating profile on Raya.
The American-born freestyle skier, who received a huge backlash for opting to represent China at the Milan-Cortina Games instead of USA, appears to be looking for love on the members-only dating app that is mainly used by celebrities.
In a post which has generated over four millions views on X, one user shared a photo of Gu’s apparent profile on the app, which features a glamorous photo of her looking over her shoulder.
‘Pro skier and model, Stanford university,’ the bio reads. ‘2x Olympic gold medalist & model w IMG. i Like cats & philosophy & white truffle oil & running & physics.’
The user who shared the picture on X captioned their post: ‘Never canceling Raya after this’.
The post is a photo of an iPhone showing her alleged profile, though its authenticity has not been confirmed.

Gu, 22, secured two gold medals and a silver at the 2026 Olympics in Italy, where she caused controversy by representing her mother’s native China over her birth country.
Given the nation’s alleged human rights abuses, and status as one of America’s main Communist adversaries, a number of conservative commentators have taken aim at her for choosing to represent China, while branding her a ‘traitor’ to USA.
Gu has never commented publicly on China’s alleged human rights abuses, including accusations of a systematic campaign of repression against Uyghur Muslims and other predominantly Muslim ethnic minorities.
Vice president JD Vance even took aim at the skier before the Winter Olympics, saying in an interview with Fox: ‘Somebody who grew up in the United States of America, who benefited from our education system, from the freedoms and liberties that make this country a great place, I would hope they would want to compete with the United States of America.
‘So, I will root for American athletes and I think part of that is people who identify themselves as Americans. That’s who I am rooting for this Olympics.’
Gu became the most decorated freestyle skier in Olympic history at the recent Milan Games after three more medals took her overall tally to six.
In a lengthy social-media post after the Games, she addressed those who questioned why she wasn’t skiing for the US.

‘When I was 15, I announced my decision to compete for China,’ Gu wrote on Instagram. ‘At the time, I had spent one season on the US team, and had been lucky enough to meet my heroes in person.
‘I am forever grateful for that season, and continue to maintain a close relationship with the team.
‘I had spent every summer in China since I was 8 setting up summer camps on trampoline and dry slope for kids and adults, ranging from 7 to 47 years old, so I knew the industry was tiny. I felt like I knew everyone.
‘Skiing for Team China meant the opportunity to uplift others through the universal culture of sport, and to introduce freeskiing to hundreds of millions of people who had never heard of it, especially with the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics around the corner.’
