- The national anthem was played before the FA Cup final at Wembley
- Fans were not impressed at all and vented their anger on social media
Football fans were left thoroughly unimpressed by the rendition of the national anthem prior to the FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon.
The honour of singing God Save The King before the showpiece event between Crystal Palace and Manchester City went to up-and-coming singer Siena MBC.
The anthem was belted out all around Wembley, but supporters were not happy with Siena MBC’s version, leading to some questioning online whether she may even have encountered technical issues.
‘The worst national anthem I’ve ever heard sung. Awful. Obviously another wokie decision made by the FA,’ one fan posted on X.
‘Is the lady signing the national anthem having loads of voice cracks or was there just issues with the mic?’ another bemused supporter asked.
One X user simply added: ‘That national anthem was absolutely dreadful.’

Others were left wondering whether something else untoward had affected the quality of the performance after complaining about the anthem being out of sync with the music and not being loud enough.
‘The national anthem being played here is out of sync. Embarrassingly hilarious!’ one fan claimed.
‘Quietest national anthem I’ve ever heard as well,’ another wrote.
There was also anger in some quarters about English players not singing the anthem.
‘That national anthem attempt was absolutely shocking. Some English players not even singing it either. Should be ashamed,’ one fan insisted.
