Families of three teenage boys who were killed by their friend in a car crash have received compensation, solicitors have confirmed.
Finlay Johns, Ian Cannon and Tyler Johnston – all aged 16 – were passengers in the car when it crashed on the A711 near Dumfries in March 2022.
Learner driver Jake Loy was jailed last year after he admitting killing his three friends by dangerous driving.
A spokesman for solicitors Digby Brown said civil claims had been lodged on behalf of the victims and had all now been settled.
It has been reported that a six-figure sum was involved in the settlement.
A spokesman for the solicitors said: “This was a truly devastating collision – three sons were lost in an avoidable crash which resulted in life-changing and profound trauma to multiple families.
“Civil claims were lodged on behalf of those affected and I can confirm those actions have now settled but it would be inappropriate to disclose any further details.”

Loy – who was 17 at the time of the crash and did not have a full licence – was jailed for four years and eight months at the High Court in Glasgow in August 2024.
He had gone for a drive with his friends in March 2022 when he crashed into another vehicle on the A711 at Cargenbridge, just outside Dumfries.
The three boys – all from Moffat – died at the scene. The three people in the other car were seriously injured, as was Loy himself.
In addition to his jail term, Loy was also disqualified from driving for eight years and ordered to sit an extended test before he is able to drive again.
