Port Vale will have the chance to claim another giant-killing after they were drawn away to Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Vale, who are rooted to the bottom of League One, booked their spot in the last eight of the competition for the first time since 1954 after sensationally beating Premier League side Sunderland in the fifth-round.

And now, the Valiants are in line for a bumper payday after being drawn away to Liam Rosenior’s Blues at Stamford Bridge, with the winner of the tie booking a semi-final clash at Wembley.

Elsewhere there is a blockbuster affair at the Etihad Stadium, where Man City will host Liverpool, with the Citizens chasing their eighth FA Cup – and Pep Guardiola’s third – while the Reds are looking for a chance at silverware after all-but relinquishing their Premier League title.

Record FA Cup winners Arsenal have also been handed a favourable draw away at Championship side Southampton, who beat Fulham in the other shock result of the fifth-round.

Mikel Arteta’s men remain in the hunt for all four competitions they entered this season, and could earn their second visit to Wembley this season with a victory, having already booked their place in the EFL Cup final against Man City later this month.

Meanwhile, one of West Ham or Brentford – who are in action on Monday night – will host Leeds.

The winners of the quarter-final ties will receive £477,000 in prize money, and will be in line for another £530,000 even if they lose at the national stadium in the next round.

As per the competitions rules, the pot of money made from gate receipts will also be shared between the two clubs.

All of the ties will take place around the weekend of April 4-5.
