Former UFC fighter Jairzinho Rozenstruik was arrested in Florida this week in relation to an alleged domestic battery incident.

The 37-year-old was arrested on Monday by Pembroke Pines Police and faces charges of battery, touch or strike, and false imprisonment, according to NBC Miami.

The former heavyweight star was accused of biting and hitting the victim after police responded to a ‘suspicious incident’ at an address in Pembroke Pines, in the north suburbs of Miami.

The victim alleged to police that she and Rozenstruik got into an argument while driving back from a storage unit. It is not clear what triggered the dispute.

The Suriname fighter reportedly slapped the victim’s hand multiple times, which caused her to drop her phone.

She then attempted to leave the vehicle to which Rozenstruik grabbed her arm to force her to stay in the car.

The victim said she responded by punching him multiple times in self-defense as she tried to break his grip to exit the vehicle.

Rozenstruik allegedly attempted to kiss her, and she declined, angering him. He then bit the victim’s right bicep, leaving a visible bite mark.

Police reportedly noted that the victim had redness on both forearms and a red scratch/bruise mark under her right eye.

Rozenstruik was placed in immigration hold and is still in jail as of Thursday morning, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office records. Initial bond was set at $3,500.

Rozenstruik, known to many MMA fans as ‘Bigi Boy,’ competed 15 times in the UFC from February 2019 to February 2025.

The promotion parted ways with Rozenstruik after he lost to Sergei Pavlovich at UFC Saudi Arabia last February – despite him being 2-1 in his final three bouts.

Since being removed from the UFC’s roster, Rozenstruik has fought twice under the Dirty Boxing Championship banner, winning both bouts.
