Ex-Man United star rips into Alejandro Garnacho, blasting his behaviour – and his HAIRCUT – with forward brutally told to find a new club by Ruben Amorim

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has torn into Alejandro Garnacho for his behaviour after the club’s Europa League final loss to Tottenham.

United suffered a hugely disappointing campaign and finished the Premier League season in lowly 15th, missing out on European qualification for just the second time in 35 years.

Their Europa League final defeat to Spurs capped a woeful season and also triggered a toxic feud between Garnacho and Ruben Amorim.

The 20-year-old only featured for 20 minutes from bench and he failed to hide his frustration with Amorim as he admitted it had been a ‘s***’ season for the club.

Amorim later brutally warned him that he needs to ‘pray’ he can find a new club in front of team-mates and an Old Trafford exit looks certain.

But he travelled with the United squad on their post-season tour of Asia, just hours after they concluded their miserable Premier League season, and was later involved in an altercation with a fan.

He also aimed a dig at the club – taking to Instagram to express his relief at the tour’s conclusion.

United are looking to bolster their attack with a summer rebuild and Garnacho, who came from the club’s academy, looks set to depart.

And former Man United goalkeeper Ben Foster believes axing the Argentine, who he said appears to lack honesty, will benefit the team.

Asked his thoughts on the forward’s future, Foster told talkSPORT: ‘I think for Man United it’s best to ship [him] out.

‘If I was the manager I’d be a little bit similar to Amorim in the case of I just want team players.

‘I want a bunch of lads who are good, honest, hard working team players. And I don’t get that vibe from Garnacho, I don’t get that vibe from a few of the players.’

He added: ‘You look at the full-time whistle after the Europa League game. You have Brennan Johnson doing an intervew.

‘He looks like he hasn’t had a haircut for about three months, [hair] horrible all over the place, but his interview was incredible. You could tell he’s a real nice lad, he’s hard working, he does everything for the team.

‘Then you look at Garnacho. Fresh trim a day ago, dyed blonde ready for the final.

The full-time whistle goes, he’s sat on the pitch sulking by himself, not trying to get behind the other lads, picking them up, saying “well done we got this far”.

‘And I think that there is the big contrast. I just want good lads, honest, hard working lads.’

Following the Europa League final defeat, Garnacho’s brother and agent added fuel to the fire by posting on Instagram that the winger had been ‘thrown under the bus’ by the Portuguese boss.

Garnacho was then left out of United’s squad for their final game of the season against Villa

His partner appeared to confirm his United departure with a cryptic two-word message to fans on social media just hours before the Villa encounter.

She posted a picture of a baby-sized United kit alongside the words ‘last match’, accompanied by a tearful emoji and a heart on Instagram.

A sale would represent pure profit under financial fair play rules, as the winger came through the club’s academy system.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils completed their first signing of the summer last week – a £62.5million deal for Wolves’s Matheus Cunha.

They are also targeting Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and last night made an opening offer of £55m.

United are ready to sell to help fund their reshaping of Amorim’s lacklustre squad.

They are keen to offload exiled stars Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho this summer, two of their highest earners who are both on around £300,000-a-week.

Kobbie Mainoo, Antony, Andre Onana are also likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.

While Hojlund could be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee.
