Former college football star Jordan Jones was shot dead outside a bar in Georgia over the weekend. He was just 28.
Jones, who later played indoor football, was gunned down near Saddle Bar in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was rushed to the hospital but medics were unable to save him.
‘The Indoor Football League mourns the tragic passing of former All-IFL linebacker Jordan Jones,’ a statement on Monday read.
‘A talented player and respected competitor, Jordan left a lasting mark on the league and those who had the privilege of knowing him.
‘Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates.’
As reported by TMZ, Jones was working as a security guard at Saddle Bar when he broke up a brawl involving Daniel Di Vonne Parsons.

According to police, Parsons then took out a gun and shot Jones, with officers dispatched to the scene shortly before 3am on Saturday.
The 25-year-old was arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.
Officers attempted to treat Jones before he was taken to Kennestone Hospital, north west of Atlanta, where he died of his injuries.
