Manchester City striker Erling Haaland made a joking reference to Noni Madueke in a post on his social media on Friday.
After enduring a trophyless campaign last season, Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to be back to their best in 2025-26.
On Saturday the Cityzens travel to Molineux to take on Wolves in their Premier League opener.
In the lead up to the game, Haaland shared a selfie to his Snapchat account with the location tagged as Wolverhampton.
A fan then replied to the 25-year-old, asking for him to share his thoughts on the West Midlands city.
Haaland responded: ‘Hahahahaa I know what u trying to do here.’

Erling Haaland poked fun at Noni Madueke’s infamous social media outburst ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Wolves

Madueke famously landed himself in hot water for calling the West Midlands city ‘s***’ in a later-deleted Instagram post

The recent Arsenal signing subsequently netted his first Premier League hat-trick against Wolves
The Norway international’s comments were a cheeky reference to an incident that landed Madueke in hot water prior to Chelsea’s clash with Wolves in August of last year.
The game saw the then-Blues star net his first Premier League hat-trick as Enzo Maresca’s side secured a 6-2 win but it was a post on social media that drew the ire of the Wolves faithful.
Prior to that game Madueke uploaded – and then swiftly deleted – a message to his Instagram story.
The post had the city of Wolverhampton tagged and the message read: ‘Everything about this place is s***’.
Although this was quickly deleted, the post was live just long enough for it to be screenshotted multiple times before being widely circulated on social media..
Madueke followed it up with another message that read: ‘Damnn wrong instagram account.. You lot are too fast’.
