Up to £150,000 grants available for commercial games projects
The UK Games Fund has opened expressions of interest for its latest Content Fund, offering grants between £50,000 and £150,000 to support the development of original, commercial games-for-entertainment content.
With continued support from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, this funding opportunity is aimed at helping UK-registered SMEs grow sustainable studios, build talented teams, and bring exciting intellectual property to market.
Eligible applicants must satisfy strict eligibility criteria, including
- be UK-based
- have PAYE employees working in games development
- be able to demonstrate financial and strategic readiness to scale
Projects must have a playable prototype and a clear commercial pathway, with funding focused on hands-on development costs.

Expressions of interest (EOI) are now open, and successful applicants will receive 70% of the grant upfront, with the remainder paid upon delivery of leverage outcomes such as matched private funding or publishing deals.
Studios interested in applying are encouraged to act quickly and register on the UK Games Fund platform.
