Fresh blow for royal prank DJ Mel Greig as she reveals she’s chronically ill as a result of adverse reactions to vaccines and multiple bouts of Covid: ‘My immune system is so weak’

Media personality Mel Greig is facing another debilitating health battle.

The 40-year-old, who already suffers from endometriosis, recently revealed that she’s been sick for the past 12 months from both Covid and adverse reactions to Covid vaccines.

‘The past 12 months I have been sick on and off more times than ever before,’ she shared on Instagram last month.

‘From getting sick from the vaccines to getting Covid three times, my immune system is so weak. I’m going to try a gut reboot as the gut is where it all stems from apparently.’

She added: ‘So sick of being sick. Hopefully a gut reboot will help rebuild my immune system, I am catching every single germ going around.’

WHY VACCINES ARE IMPORTANT

Immunisation is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting people against harmful diseases before they come into contact with them.

Immunisation not only protects individuals, but also others in the community, by reducing the spread of preventable diseases.

Research and testing is an essential part of developing safe and effective vaccines.

In Australia, vaccines must pass strict safety testing before the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) will register them for use. Approval of vaccines can take up to 10 years.

Before vaccines become available to the public, large clinical trials test them on thousands of people.

High-quality studies over many years have compared the health of large numbers of vaccinated and unvaccinated children. Medical information from nearly 1.5 million children around the world have confirmed that vaccination does not cause autism.

People first became concerned about autism and immunisation after the medical journal The Lancet published a paper in 1998. This paper claimed there was a link between the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism.

Since then, scientists have completely discredited this paper. The Lancet withdrew it in 2010 and printed an apology. The UK’s General Medical Council struck the author off the medical register for misconduct and dishonesty.

In the weeks since, the former Celebrity Apprentice star said that she’s been feeling better following her gut cleanse.

Many people have reported side effects from Covid shots, including headaches, a temperature, fatigue and injection site soreness, but in most cases the symptoms only last a few days and are rare.

The TGA’s latest health safety report, published on 20 April, reveals that adverse risks are extremely low.

There were 138,307 total adverse event reports from nearly 66 million vaccine doses administered – a rate of just 0.2 per cent.

‘The protective benefits of vaccination far outweigh the potential risks,’ the report states.

Greig has already been battling endometriosis for years and is an ambassador for Endometriosis Australia.

Endometriosis is a condition that affects a woman’s reproductive organs, whereby tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside of the uterus, resulting in debilitating pain.

In a heartbreaking post on social media, Greig said that the condition ‘feels like someone is stabbing you in the abdomen with a knife’.

‘Nausea is a new symptom for me. I now can’t physically sit in a car for two hours because the pain is too unbearable and the pain medication that I once used has now been taken off pharmacy shelves,’ she wrote.

‘Within a few hours I predict I’ll be in the emergency room begging for pain medication.’

‘We can’t ever feel ashamed to say “I have Endometriosis” we don’t want a stigma we just want a god damn cure,’ she finished.

Mel has stepped away from her career in television and radio in recent years.

These days, she works as a public relations and media manager on the Gold Coast and lives alone with her pet pooch, Mia.

‘Ten years ago, I was living my dream life living in a penthouse hanging out with celebrities and private booths in nightclubs, interviewing the world’s biggest stars,’ she told Mamamia last year.

‘And now my favourite thing that I get to do each day is walk my moodle on the beach in peace.’

The former 2Day FM announcer made headlines in 2012 when she and co-host Michael Christian impersonated the Queen and Prince Charles to gain information about the Duchess of Cambridge during a hospital stay.

Days later, Indian-born Jacintha Saldanha, 46, the nurse who took the call, killed herself, and Michael and Mel were named in her suicide note.
