Deeptech accelerator for spinouts and startups

The Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) is running a 12-month deep tech accelerator programme to help researchers and recent graduates turn engineering innovations into successful businesses.

The Enterprise Fellowships scheme provides equity-free funding, alongside tailored training, mentoring, and business coaching. Participants also gain lifetime access to the Academy’s Enterprise Hub network of investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.

The programme is open to university researchers and graduates with a protectable engineering or technology innovation, and the ambition to lead a startup as CEO or COO.

Support includes

  • up to £75,000 grant
  • 15 days of training over six months
  • 12 months of mentoring from experienced tech entrepreneurs
  • access to expert-led workshops in leadership, strategy, marketing, and finance

There are no fees, and the Academy makes no claim on intellectual property.

Applications for the next round close at 4pm on 26 August 2025.

Potential applicants can register to join an introductory webinar on Friday 15 August 2025 to find out more.

Those working in research commercialisation at a UK or Irish university or research institute can join one of five Tech Transfer Officers workshops in August and September.

For full details and to apply, visit the Enterprise Fellowships page.
