Deeptech accelerator for spinouts and startups

The Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Hub is running a 12-month tech accelerator programme to help researchers and recent graduates turn engineering innovations into scalable businesses.

Successful applicants receive

  • up to £75,000 equity-free grant
  • 12-month tailored skills programme
  • 1-to-1 coaching and mentoring from experienced tech entrepreneurs

Once the Enterprise Fellowship is completed, awardees become Hub members, gaining lifetime access to co-working spaces and meeting rooms in Belfast, London, Swansea, Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield.

Eligibility

The Enterprise Fellowships programme is open to

  • academic spinouts engineers and researchers commercialising university research, (often working with a Technology Transfer Office)
  • graduate-led start-ups recent graduates developing engineering innovations with the potential to scale

Applications for the next round close on 16 February 2026.

Potential applicants can join online sessions with programme managers to learn about the application process and ask questions. The webinars will take place on

  • 15 January and 9 February 2026 – for academic spinouts
  • 23 January and 11 February 2026 – graduate startups
