Emmerdale’s Emma Atkins has delivered a message to viewers following a “distressing” storyline.
On Sunday (7 June), her character Charity Dingle was sexually assaulted by her blackmailer Dr Caitlin Todd, in what viewers described as a “very difficult watch”.
Following the airing of the episode, Atkins appeared in a video message posted to the ITV soap’s social media accounts where she encouraged fans who may have been “triggered” or upset by the content to reach out for support.
