Wimbledon: How to get tennis tickets in queue and register for 2026 ballot

Wimbledon continues to be one of the only major sporting events where fans can get tickets on the day of play. The All England Club welcomes more than 40,000 fans per day.

With enough dedication, you can brave the queue at Wimbledon Park, near Southfields tube station, which is still a key part of the Wimbledon experience.

Fans can queue up – often camping overnight – in order to be at the front of the queue to obtain tickets for either Centre Court or Court 1 for the first 10 days of The Championships. Usually, there are 500 tickets available for Centre Court and 500 available for Court 1.

Fans are advised to go to the end of The Queue in Wimbledon Park to obtain a Queue Card. The card will be dated and numbered with your position in The Queue.

What is electronic line calling (ELC)? Wimbledon’s new Hawk-Eye Live system explained

If you’re watching Wimbledon this year, you’ll likely notice the implementation of electronic line calling (ELC) technology.

This has brought to an end the role of the line judge after 147 years patrolling the courts in SW19.

The tournament venue has taken the decision to install ELC on all 18 match courts, including Centre Court and Court One, and we have everything you need to know below.

Iga Swiatek fights back to reach Wimbledon third round

One of the big results from the women’s singles yesterday…

Four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek avoided joining Wimbledon’s lengthy list of fallen seeds by stylishly battling back to beat world number 208 Caty McNally.

The 24-year-old – a five-time major winner, having also claimed the 2022 US Open title – was in danger of seeing her comparatively woeful SW19 record continue after blowing a 4-1 lead to drop the opening set.

But she responded impressively in the Centre Court sunshine to prevail 5-7 6-2 6-1 in two hours and 25 minutes.

Osaka takes first set in match against Pavlyuchenkova

Osaka follows that break with a break of her own and will serve to see out the set…

We go to deuce but an absolutely superb ace gives the 27-year-old the advantage and an arguably even better ace follows to wrap up the first set 6-3.
