Australian boxer Ebanie Bridges will return to boxing on Saturday night just 10 months after giving birth – and she sees it as a first step towards becoming an undisputed world champion and ‘breaking the internet’.

The outspoken ‘Blonde Bomber’, 39, will make her debut in Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions as she faces Alexis Araiza in the bantamweight category in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

It marks a rapid turnaround after she welcomed her baby boy, Ezerra Ray, into the world in March alongside former British boxer and ex-IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.

Bridges is a former world champion herself, having held the IBF female bantamweight belt between 2022 and 2023, but faces a stiff contest after two years away from the sport.

She has been out of the ring since December 2023, when she lost her title to Miyo Yoshida, and since then has continued publishing on her OnlyFans page. ‘Thank f*** for OnlyFans, otherwise I’d be working at f***ing McDonald’s or something in order to support myself,’ she once said.

But now she can make in income from boxing again and she said: ‘I’m excited to be getting back in the ring after some time out and even more excited to have my gorgeous son ringside. He’s a whole new level of motivation for me.

‘I can’t wait to do what I do best: entertain, put on a show, and deliver an exciting fight.

‘Puerto Ricans are known for their heart, pride, and aggression, and those qualities are in my fundamentals. I think they’re going to love the Blonde Bomber.’

Bridges fights Araiza on the undercard of Amanda Serrano’s clash against Reina Tellez, with the former defending her WBA and WBO featherweight titles.

Serrano was originally meant to have a rematch with Erika Cruz, but that was cancelled following an atypical finding in Cruz’s Voluntary Anti-Doping Association test.

Bridges is aiming higher than this undercard fight, though. Longer-term, she has the undisputed female bantamweight champion ‘Sugar Neekz’ in her sights.

‘She’s got all the belts,’ Bridges told Fox Sports Australia.

‘You know, she’s also a good friend of mine also, and I’m super proud of what she’s done and achieved.

‘She’s very deserving of it. She’s worked very hard, and I’ve loved seeing her success, but she’s got the bullseye on her back because she’s the undisputed champion.

‘She’s holding all the belts, so obviously I’d like to fight to get the belts.

‘It’d be one of the biggest Aussie boxing fights, I think.

‘Obviously, the fight with me and Shannon O’Connell was the biggest for female boxing, but this would be bigger than that because Neekz is undisputed.

‘Our weigh-ins combined would break the internet.’
