Super Bowl hero Saquon Barkley was among the sporting superstars who appeared at the Met Gala on Monday night.

The Philadelphia Eagles running back was seen in a black tuxedo as he hit the red carpet at the glitzy annual event in New York.

His outfit was made by Thom Browne and Barkley wrote on X: ‘Met Gala 2025. Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’

‘In my business, we say look good, feel good, play good. So it applies to everything – not just sports but life and especially fashion,’ Barkley said on the red carpet.

His appearance caps a busy few weeks for the 28-year-old, who has been rubbing shoulders with celebrities and politicians since leading the Eagles to Super Bowl glory.

He was seen partying with Hollywood star Timothee Chalamet at the Formula One Grand Prix in Miami over the weekend.

Barkley also recently came under fire after meeting Donald Trump and even playing golf with the president.

The running back cemented himself as one of the biggest stars in the NFL during the 2024 season, when he led the Eagles to Super Bowl glory.

That earned them a trip to the White House but a number of Barkley’s teammates, including quarterback Jalen Hurts, did not go to Washington to celebrate their victory with Trump.

The running back, however, was seen alongside the president at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, before traveling with Trump on Marine One.

He also spent time with Theodore Kushner – the nine-year-old grandson of the president.

First Daughter Ivanka Trump shared a video to social media of the youngster racing across the White House lawn with Barkley.

The pair were captured tossing the pigskin around before Theodore challenged the NFL star – one of the fastest in the league – to a race.

Barkley hit back at the criticism, writing on social media: ‘Lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT.’

‘Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump!

‘Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day.’

The running back, in his first season since joining from the Giants, rushed for 13 touchdowns and more than 2,000 yards as the Eagles secured a second Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Formula One star Lewis Hamilton and Olympics hero Simone Biles were also among the stars of sport who hit the red carpet on Monday.
