Philadelphia Eagles star Cooper DeJean revealed that Caitlin Clark, a renowned Kansas City Chiefs fan, was among the well wishers who congratulated him on his Super Bowl victory.
DeJean and the Eagles thrashed the Chiefs in a dominant 40-22 victory to claim Super Bowl LIX glory – the second in franchise history.
The rookie played a pivotal role in the demolition of the back-to-back champions, delivering one of the defining moments of the game when he intercepted Patrick Mahomes and took it all the way to the house for a touchdown.
It was the young defensive back’s first interception of his NFL career and his performance likely attracted many congratulations from stars of the sporting world.
However, it was somewhat surprising that WNBA superstar Clark was among them, given her Chiefs fandom and her history with DeJean.
‘She sent me a nice message congratulating me, so that was nice of her being a Chiefs fan and all,’ DeJean revealed on Up & Adams.

Ahead of the NFL draft last April, the former Iowa cornerback had said he was confident he could beat his fellow Hawkeye alumna if they ever met on the basketball court.
However, he revealed a month later that he had been humbled by the WNBA No. 1 overall pick
He revealed last May that his former University of Iowa classmate sent him a text after suggesting he could ‘pull off’ a win one-on-one against Clark on the court.
‘She took a shot back at me,’ DeJean told Kay Adams on a previous episode of her show, Up and Adams.
‘She texted me, and she said didn’t think that I could beat her. I’ll let her say that, but yeah, I mean, I think it’d be fun if we got to play each other.’
He also backtracked slightly on his initial claim, insisting that he ‘was really just answering the question.’
‘Obviously, Caitlin’s a special player,’ he continued. ‘She’s done so much for women’s basketball as well and the University of Iowa in general. So I have nothing but respect for her.’

Meanwhile, Clark has made no secret of her love for the Chiefs, the Eagles’ Super Bowl rivals this year and in 2023.
The Indiana Fever guard even shared a VIP suite with Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce, at Arrowhead for the Chiefs’ NFL Divisional round win over the Houston Texans.
Clark, who is also a proud Swiftie, admitted to feeling a little star-struck by the 14-time Grammy Award winner but insisted that Swift’s love for Chiefs Kingdom is genuine.
‘I’m a huge Chiefs fan and Taylor is a huge Chiefs fan,’ the 23-year-old said on The Swarmcast Podcast last month. ‘Taylor is very sweet and very kind and it’s a good reminder that people in our position are very normal. We enjoy watching sports and hanging out with our friends. It puts a great perspective of life.’
