Summer signing Tijjani Reijnders scored a brace for Manchester City in their friendly victory against Palermo but fans noticed that there was something not quite right with his name on the back of his shirt.
City mistakenly referred to the midfielder as ‘Reijinders’, adding in an extra ‘i’, with some fans admitting that they have made a similar mistake.
One fan wrote: ‘Not even going to call out the club for spelling Reijnders wrong on the back of his shirt, I be making the same mistake’.
Another added: ‘Reijnders will be something special for us this season. With any luck they can get his name spelt right on his shirt sometime soon’.
Furthermore, another wrote: ‘Mate I saw this and thought I’d been spelling his name wrong the whole time’.
Netherlands international Reijnders joined City from AC Milan in June as he signed a five-year deal in a £46.5million move.
