The annual NFL head coach photo has just dropped and it’s got everyone talking.
The star-studded picture, captured at the annual league owners’ meetings in Arizona, showed head coaches from across the league seated together and smiling in the sun.
The annual photo is, notably, the only time that the head coaches are all gathered together and it didn’t take long for the image to go viral on social media.
Fans discussed the line-up of coaches, their poses and the attire which they chose for the occasion – with most opting for a casual, light-blue look in the sunshine.
However, a closer look at the official NFL post revealed that only 30 of the league’s 32 head coaches managed to make it to the frame for the traditional ‘class photo’.
Social media sleuths immediately began counting heads, noting that Cleveland head coach Todd Monken and Rams boss Sean McVay were both absent on the day.

The NFL proactively addressed the gaps in their caption on Instagram, noting: ‘Not pictured: Browns HC Todd Monken & Rams HC Sean McVay.’
While the league did not provide an official reason for their absence, fans in the comments section were quick to offer their own humorous theories.
‘McVay fr said nah I’m good,’ joked one Instagram user, while others claimed that the photo ‘doesn’t count’ without the Super Bowl-winning Rams coach.
Some fans also noted how it was a shame that Monken was unable to attend for his debut picture, having only landed his first NFL head coaching role on January 28.
Further online reaction saw Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams poke fun at his team’s head coach, Ben Johnson, for his cameo in the photo.
The Bears signal caller took to Instagram to share a zoomed-in photo of Johnson, writing the caption: ‘Say cheese [laughing emojis]’.
