Bridgnorth residents are being invited to attend a public consultation event on Friday 10 July [2026] about draft proposals for a Bridgnorth residents’ parking permit scheme.

The proposed parking scheme would give Shropshire Council the opportunity to provide extra parking, and see a new digital parking permit scheme introduced.

The drop-in event will be held at Castle Hall, Bridgnorth from 10am to 8pm and give residents and business owners the chance to talk to council officers about the proposals, and share their comments and suggestions.

Rob Wilson, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for transport and regeneration,  said

“These proposals would introduce a more rational approach to parking for residents, business owners and shoppers in Bridgnorth, and  allow us to provide extra capacity in what is a very strained area for parking. The on-going issues with emergency services accessing constrained streets is well documented and the proposals will help manage the blockages, especially on Cartway. We will also take this opportunity to introduce a new digital permit system for Bridgnorth that will gives us greater flexibility and control for the residents.

“I hope people will take the opportunity to join us to find out more and share their thoughts.”
