New England Patriots star Drake Maye has delivered an update on the shoulder injury which has threatened to derail his Super Bowl dreams.

The Patriots star landed on the team’s injury report on Wednesday and, despite the fact New England did not practice on the day, he was listed as a ‘limited’ participant.

The report sent Patriots fans into a frenzy as they quickly feared that star quarterback Maye would not be available for the Super Bowl LX clash against the Seahawks.

However, Maye has now delivered an update on his situation and alleviated any potential fears for New England fans.

Speaking to WEEI, Maye said: ‘I’m feeling good. I got in some extra rest. I don’t think it’s from the game.

‘I think it’s just the buildup of throwing, including training camp, 30 weeks straight of throwing and four days a week. It can add up.

‘But I got some extra rest and I’m feeling good and ready to go for the Super Bowl.’
