Dolly Parton made a surprise public appearance one month after cancelling her Las Vegas residency due to health concerns.
On Wednesday (24 June), the country legend attended the opening day of Dolly’s Tennesseean Travel Stop, a truck stop which serves BBQ dishes and coffee called “Cup of Ambition”.
After the 80-year-old cut the ribbon with a pair of bedazzled scissors at the opening ceremony, she told fans: “I’ve spent my whole life traveling on the road, so anyways I wanted to welcome you and say thanks.”
Last month, Parton said that she would be cancelling her residency after dealing with some health challenges. “It’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage-performance level,” she said, though adding she was “improving every day”.
