A college football coach and his family took part in a disgusting post-game tradition of being covered in mayonnaise after his team’s victory in their Bowl game on Friday.

The incident occurred after Wake Forest met Mississippi State in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, where the Demon Deacons ran out 43-29 winners on the night.

Quarterback Robby Ashford helped lead the ACC side to victory after completing 22-of-33 passes for 303 yards, including one touchdown and one interception.

There were jubilant scenes inside the Bank of America Stadium as Wake Forest celebrated but, for head coach Jake Dickert, those festivities quickly came to an end.

Dickert, along with his wife and two children, was made to stand in front of his Wake Forest team and have a four-and-a-half gallons of mayonnaise poured over his head.

Dickert, 42, took his punishment well and held his arms aloft with a broad smile across his face as two of his players dumped the condiment all over him.

While Dickert was all smiles, the same could not be said for his two children and wife, who looked understandably disgusted by the incident.

It marked just the latest bizarre college Bowl game, after the likes of the Pop-Tarts Bowl, Xbox Bowl and Boca Raton Bowl all took place over the last month.

Arguably, the Boca Raton Bowl was most similar to the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, with players awarded a huge bowl of beans as a reward for winning the game.

Comedian Keegan-Michael Key was on hand to dish out the beans to the Louisville Cardinals players after they defeated Toledo 27-22.

Meanwhile, the mayonnaise-related incident came just hours after the Armed Forces Bowl descended into chaos on Friday following a parachuting accident.

Footage caught the terrifying moment a parachutist got caught in the field goal netting and plunged 35 feet into the crowd below.

The scary scenes occurred shortly before kickoff in the Rice-Texas State game, where five parachutists were scheduled to land on the field.

According to video and reports from inside the stadium, only three safely landed where they were supposed to, with one ending up outside the stadium entirely.

It was the fifth jumper that caused the most horrifying scenes, though, as he flew straight into the field goal net cable, where his parachute immediately became tangled.

He was left suspended at the same height as the top of the goalposts – 35 feet – for a few seconds, before the parachute came loose and he tumbled down to the ground.

In multiple videos recorded by horrified fans, the man appeared to land between the main section of the crowd and the barrier to the field, where he was helped to his feet by bystanders.
