An NFL fan was seen snatching a ball away from the wife of Chargers star Keenan Allen in a shocking viral moment on Sunday.
Allen was instrumental in the Chargers dramatic 23-20 win over the Broncos at SoFi Stadium and had seven receptions for 65 yards – including a game-tying touchdown.
With 2:37 left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Chargers QB Justin Herbert picked out Allen inside the end-zone – before he wheeled away in celebration.
In doing so, Allen ran towards the stands and looked up to see his wife, Ciandra, cheering him on. He went to toss the ball up to her before the fan grabbed it instead.
A clip of the incident went viral on social media and showed Ciandra grabbing the shoulder of the fan, who had quickly tried to make an exit after grabbing the ball.
Allen also seemed to notice the sly reception from the fan and was seen standing and pointing towards him while his teammates gathered round him to celebrate.

However, Ciandra later confirmed that she did in fact get the ball that Allen threw to her
Thankfully, this was not a repeat of the ‘Phillies Karen’ situation – as it later emerged that the fan had seemingly returned the ball to Ciandra.
Allen’s wife took to her Instagram story to share a picture of her holding the ball outside the SoFi Stadium as she celebrated the dramatic victory.
She also took to X and replied to a clip of the incident. She wrote: ‘I got the ball. The camera didn’t show right after that lol’.
A fan had initially posted the clip with the caption: ‘HE BETTER HAVE GIVEN THAT BALL BACK TO KEENANS WIFE WTF!!!!’
Allen, meanwhile, was in top form as he helped the Chargers move 3-0 and solidify their strong start to the new season.
The wide receiver, 33, has had 19 receptions for 194 yards and recorded three touchdowns during his dominant run.
He’ll be hoping to add to that impressive stat line when the Chargers take on the Giants – who are yet to win a game – next weekend.
Allen also recently went viral after fans noticed his unique shoulder deformity during his celebrations following their win over the Raiders.

A clip showed Allen cheering towards a camera but supporters were far more concerned with two large bumps on his shoulders – with one the size of a golf ball.
The unique deformity left some fans feeling squeamish, while others went on to label his shoulders as ‘Allen’s Aliens’.
However, the explanation is far simpler than the ‘alien’ tag might suggest.
The large lumps are the result of AC joint injuries – which Allen has a history with. His sprained his right AC join back in 2013 and never had it surgically repaired.
