Diane Keaton’s iconic “You Don’t Own Me” dance scene from The First Wives Club has been reshared across social media after her death aged 79 in California was announced on Saturday, 11 October.

The Oscar-winning Annie Hall star, who played Annie Paradis in the 1996 film, was honoured by two of her co-stars in the film, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn, after news broke of her death.

Kate Hudson, Hawn’s daughter, posted this scene from the movie showing Keaton alongside her co-stars, belting out lyrics from Lesley Gore’s famous song.

Hudson captioned the video “We love you so much, Diane”, and fans flooded the comments with praise to Keaton for this memorable scene and her career.
