Manchester’s Christmas Parade is set to return for 2025 on Sunday 7 December.

The annual parade, which takes place through the streets of Manchester city centre, is set to see the return of the Elf Express – Santa’s ride to the North Pole along with his team of elves.

The parade will feature Nutcracker-inspired toy soldiers on Segways, a roaming Christmas tree, giant reindeers, and Jack Frost accompanied by a troupe of Frosty dancers.

Councillor Pat Karney and spokesperson for Manchester city council, said: “There’s nowhere that does Christmas quite like Manchester and our Christmas Parade has fast become a favourite in the city’s festive calendar with Mancunians and visitors of all ages.

“Seeing the joy and wonder on the faces of everyone as they watch the parade would melt even the hardest of hearts and this year we’re going all out to put on an unmissable parade that makes memories for children and families that last a lifetime,” he added.

The parade will start and finish at Manchester Cathedral, and travel along the following streets:

  • Victoria Street
  • Deansgate
  • John Dalton Street
  • Cross Street
  • Market Street
  • St Mary’s Mary’s Gate

Details around timings of the parade will be released closer to the event, the council said.

The council has also called for expressions of interest from community group who wish to take part in the parade by 27 October.
