Decision:
i)
That the Director of Finance, in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Housing and Finance, approve the spend of £847,100
grant funding to enter into a contract
with the Environment Agency Framework consultants and contractors
to deliver the Brixham Flood Alleviation Scheme.
ii)
That the Director of Finance, in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Housing and Finance, approve the spend of £977,000
grant funding to enter into a contract
with the Environment Agency Framework consultants and contractors
to deliver the Paignton Flood Alleviation Scheme.
iii)
That the Director of Finance, in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Housing and Finance, approve the spend of
£1,410,000 grant funding to enter
into a contract with the Environment Agency Framework
consultants and contractors to deliver the Property Flood
Resilience element of the Torquay Flood Alleviation Scheme.
iv)
That the Director of Finance, in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Housing and Finance, approve an in-phase budget of
£640,000 to undertake the next tranche of pre-construction
activity and obtain planning consent for the Brixham Port
Infrastructure Project, utilising the ring-fenced Local
Regeneration Funds.
Reasons for the decision:
All projects were
reviewed and deemed to be strategically advantageous and
satisfactorily compliant in terms of their feasibility and levels
of risk to enable them to progress.
Alternative options considered:
The
projects could be put on hold or cancelled and the grant funding
received for them could be returned to central
government.
Implementation:
The decision will be
implemented immediately.
