After kicking off a soccer revolution in the United States and building his franchise into the champions of America, David Beckham is now working to lift up the next generation of athletes.

Beckham, the former LA Galaxy star and co-owner of Inter Miami, has partnered with Bank of America to help increase access to the world’s game in schools across the country.

It’s part of an initiative called ‘Soccer at Schools’ – a program founded by BofA and US Soccer through the Soccer Forward Foundation.

According to a press release by the company, the initiative would work to increase access to places to play, help to recruit and train volunteer coaches and officials, and promoting physical wellness.

‘Soccer has been the foundation of my life which started with incredible support at school and in my local community through well-trained coaches, volunteers, and access to facilities and equipment,’ Beckham said in the release.

‘Soccer at Schools is built on that very same approach – that all children should have the support and access they need to succeed. I look forward to seeing the impact that will be made for young people in their communities with this long-term programming announced today.’

The initiative comes at a time when David is dealing with internal strife among his family – especially his son, Brooklyn, who has recently lashed out at his parents.

Addressing social media followers in January, Brooklyn claimed his father and his mother, Victoria Beckham, had tried to sabotage his marriage and have always prioritized public branding over their family relationships.

‘For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,’ he wrote.

‘The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.’

He added: ‘Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.

‘But I believe the truth always comes out.’

Unlike his three younger siblings, Brooklyn did not appear in his mother’s recent Netflix docuseries, nor did he show up at the October premiere as he and Nicola had for the London premiere of his father’s docuseries in 2023.

Brooklyn and his wife also missed David’s 50th birthday celebrations last May, and were notably absent at Windsor Castle for the former footballer’s long-awaited investiture on November 4.
