Barstool Sports boss Dave Portnoy has revealed the brutal reason why he believes Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s media run is a bad sign for the Chiefs this season.
Kelce and Swift sent fans into meltdown after confirming that the popstar would be making her first appearance on her boyfriend’s podcast; ‘New Heights’.
The following day, GQ shared an exclusive interview that they had done with Kelce, along with a photoshoot of the Chiefs star to go with it.
While fans of the couple were ecstatic by all the new content, Barstool boss Portnoy took to X to air his grievances and suggested that it would be bad for the Chiefs.
He wrote: ‘All joking aside this media blitz from Travis Kelce confirms the Chiefs are cooked.
‘As Marvin Hagar once said ‘It’s tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5am when you’re sleeping in silk pajamas’.

Patriots fan Portnoy went on to claim that the ‘Chiefs had a cute run’ in his post on X

Portnoy took to X to speak on Kelce after his podcast episode and GQ interview were released
‘Chiefs had a cute run but laughable to compare them to Patriots Mega Dynasty’.
After Swift and Kelce’s podcast episode released, Portnoy spent the evening making snide comments on social media about the couple.
Portnoy began by quoting the video announcement of ‘New Heights’ episode, as he wrote: ‘Your move @PardonMyTake’.
Barstool’s own podcast ‘Pardon My Take’ currently sits second in Apple’s sport podcast charts and is trumped only by Kelce’s ‘New Heights’.
Portnoy continued by responding to a fan’s comment about the two podcasts. The user wrote on X: ‘It will be interesting to see the numbers this podcast will do.
‘I bet they do more numbers than any Barstool podcast. But New Heights will not sustain those numbers either’.
Portnoy appeared to respond sarcastically, as he wrote: ‘Ya think?’
The Barstool boss continued his bizarre tirade on Kelce by responding to GQ’s post about their September cover star, which labelled him ‘America’s Sweetheart’.
Portnoy responded: ‘America’s Sweetheart? I think not. Hold my lemonade’ along with a graphic of his dog Ms Peaches and his new drink Lucky One Lemonade.
Portnoy eventually brought his internet ramblings to an end but not before fans weighed in on his posts. Many were left divided as they responded.

Kelce and Taylor Swift sent fans wild with their first media appearance together on Monday

Meanwhile, Kelce also took part in an exclusive interview and photoshoot with GQ

Portnoy took time to stoke the rivalry between his own podcast and Kelce’s
Some jumped to the defense of Kelce, as they wrote: ‘You seem just a little bitter that the New Heights podcast is going to do numbers that PMT’s three highest viewed episodes combined couldn’t do’.
Another said: ‘The Travis Kelce media blitz has been going on for like 3 years, bad take Dave.’
However, some were in agreement to the Barstool boss, with fan writing: ‘It’s like he woke up this morning and said “babe I’m old and washed plz make me relevant again’.
Another added: ‘Travis is a joke. He cares more about acting and modeling. He’s all that’s wrong with the modern day athlete. No killer instinct and no edge.’
