Wigan Athletic have made Dara Costelloe their third forward signing of the summer, handing the former Burnley striker a three-year deal.
Costelloe, 22, spent last season on loan, first with Accrington Stanley – scoring five goals in 14 league starts – and then League One Northampton, where he notched six in 14 games.
Having come through the ranks at Burnley but only played six times for the Clarets, he previously had loan spells at Bradford, St Johnstone and Dundee.
New Wigan boss Ryan Lowe has secured Limerick-born Costelloe until 2028, with the option of another 12 months.
He becomes the third striker signed by Wigan this summer, following Christian Saydee and Paul Mullin through the door at the Brick Community Stadium.
“Dara has all the attributes we are seeking in a new signing – and is hungry, ambitious, and wanting to improve,” Lowe told the club website, external.
“He is a real threat in the final third, and already has experience at this level following his successful spell at Northampton Town last season.
“Dara adds to the attacking options we have at the club.”
