Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb was added to the injury report with a back issue, putting his status in jeopardy at an inopportune time for Mike McCarthy’s 3-6 team.
According to the Cowboys head coach, Lamb aggravated his back during 7-on-7 drills. He is now being listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the Houston Texas at AT&T Stadium.
It’s yet another setback for a Cowboys team that has already been hampered with season-altering injuries.
Lamb is the team’s top receiver and currently sits seventh in the league in receiving yards with 681. He also has four touchdown catches to his name.
Just this year, Lamb inked a four-year, $136million extension that will keep him in Dallas until 2028.
Most of that contract is offset – meaning Lamb only constituted a cap hit of $8.75million this season, before jumping up to a $35.45m cap hit next season.

This comes after QB Dak Prescott was ruled out for the season after a hamstring injury
By far the team’s most reliable offensive weapon, the Cowboys were likely hoping that he’d be healthy and available – even as their quarterback situation deteriorated around them.
Starting quarterback Dak Prescott recently underwent season-ending surgery after injuring his hamstring in a loss to the Atlanta Falcons back in Week 9.
Just a few days ago, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed that Prescott underwent a procedure to repair his hamstring that would sideline him for the rest of the season.
Currently, the only quarterbacks available to the Cowboys are Cooper Rush, Trey Lance, and practice squad quarterback Will Grier – a fifth-year veteran who has spent most of his career as a backup.
Earlier this week, there was fear that Rush might be out for the game with a neck injury. But while he remains on the injured list, he does not have a game status listed.
The Cowboys have 19 players currently on the injury report – good for over a third of Dallas’ active roster.
At 3-6, the Cowboys season may as well be considered over as they have a long hill to climb to try and reach the playoffs without their starting quarterback.
Nevertheless, they’ll hope to try and get back to winning ways after dropping their last four straight games. Dallas plays the in-state rival Houston Texans on Monday Night Football this week.
