Cristiano Ronaldo teaches IShowSpeed how to do Viking clap celebration after Chelsea flop nets hat-trick in Al-Nassr win

Cristiano Ronaldo flaunted his talents as a music tutor as he initiated streamer IShowSpeed in the art of leading a Viking clap.

Ronaldo mimed the rhythm of the drum for Speed, real name Darren Watkins Jr, as Al-Nassr celebrated thrashing Al-Fateh 5-1 to extend their Saudi Pro League advantage.

Speed, who has built much of his 45million-strong YouTube audience with content based on Ronaldo, was in the stands with Al-Nassr’s fans to watch the game.

He got to see his hero score – a step closer to 1,000 goals for Ronaldo – while Kingsley Coman popped up with a strike, and former Chelsea outcast Joao Felix bagged himself a hat-trick.

At full-time, Speed, 20, assumed the role of drummer-in-chief to lead the fans through their Viking clap.

There was just one problem: the American didn’t really know what he was doing.

Fortunately, Ronaldo, 40, came near the edge of the pitch to act out the motion for Speed to copy, and thus a musician was born.

Speed grew into it, playing up theatrically for the cameras, and looked to enjoy his newfound role leading the adulation of his favourite player.

The youngster is something of a CR7 super fan.

In June 2023 he finally met his favourite football icon, having missed out on close encounters in the past due to bad luck.

After Portugal beat Bosnia & Herzegovina, Speed fell to the ground at Ronaldo’s feet after meeting him outside his car.

He shouted ‘Oh my God I love you’ at the 38-year-old and took a selfie, while the forward seemed amused by the interaction.

They recreated Ronaldo’s famous celebration together and shared an embrace while surrounded by confused-looking security staff.

And he is such a fanatic that last year he burst into tears while livestreaming after Portugal were knocked out of Euro 2024 by France.

Speed, followed by tens of millions on YouTube and TikTok, watched the game live on camera and donned a red Portugal polo shirt for the occasion.

But after Theo Hernandez netted the winning penalty, he began sobbing.

The 19-year-old also seemingly cut his hand after smashing a glass, saying: ‘That’s it, that’s his last game, bro. He ain’t ever coming back, y’all.

‘He’s not playing at the World Cup, he’s about to retire. That’s it.’

Speed later took to Instagram to pose his full response, writing: ‘Damn, man. It can’t be only me whose [sic] feeling like this. I can’t stop crying.

‘Knowing this is his last game with Portugal just makes me feel like I’m dead inside.

‘I’ll forever support this man. WE LOVE YOU Ronaldo and I love everybody else on [the] Portugal national squad. Keep y’all heads up.’

Except that wasn’t Ronaldo’s final game. Indeed, he is still going for Roberto Martinez’s side, and scored twice against Hungary over the international break.
