Cristiano Ronaldo shared a message of thanks on social media after it was announced that Al-Nassr coach Stefano Pioli will leave the club.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he wrote: ‘Grazie per tutto’, which translates into English as ‘thank you for everything’.

His post came in reply to official confirmation from the club that Pioli and his coaching staff would be leaving their roles.

Pioli becomes the fourth coach to depart the Saudi Pro League side since Ronaldo joined them in 2023.

He follows Rudi Garcia, Dinko Jelicic and Luís Castro in having headed for the exit door since Ronaldo’s arrival in January 2023.

Pioli’s departure comes after Al-Nassr missed out on the Saudi Pro League title once again last season, finishing in third place, 13 points adrift of champions Al-Ittihad.

Indeed, the only trophy the club have won since Ronaldo’s arrival remains the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.

Al-Nassr’s lack of silverware saw Ronaldo briefly linked with a move to their rivals Al-Hilal ahead of the Club World Cup.

Speculation arose over a possible transfer in rumours that were bizarrely started by FIFA president Gianni Infantino this month.

Infantino told YouTuber iShowSpeed last month that talks were ongoing about Ronaldo featuring in the newly-expanded competition.

Ronaldo, though, had appeared to signal that his time at Al-Nassr could be coming to an end when he put out a cryptic social media post following their final game of the season.

The X post read: ‘This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.’

But he now looks set to stay put, with a potential new contract reported to be worth £167million per year.

Speaking after Portugal’s Nations League win over Spain earlier this month, he said: ‘Future? It won’t change anything. Al-Nassr, yes.’
