- NRL unimpressed at Cooper Johns’ cheeky stunt
- Referenced incident involving two NRL stars in Vegas
- Raiders star Hudson Young was one player in the altercation
Footy funnyman Cooper Johns is said to be in the NRL’s bad books in Las Vegas following a prank gone wrong with Raiders star Hudson Young.
Johns, 25, was filming content for Sportsbet at the Fan Fest on Fremont Street when he approached the fiery backrower, who was involved in an altercation earlier this week with teammate Morgan Smithies.
The incident in a hotel elevator resulted in a scuffle between the pair involving an inflatable baseball bat – which Johns poked fun at in his clip.
‘We are not going to ask you anything about the elevator stuff,’ Johns assured Young while on camera, at the same time holding a Simpsons inflatable bat.
Seconds later, the cheeky former NRL star deliberately went against his word, asking: ‘so who won the elevator fight?
A diplomatic Young responded with: ‘Don’t know what you are talking about mate.’
According to News Corp, the NRL is aware of the incident and are making inquiries.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart was also unimpressed, stating: ‘it’s each to their own and the types of ways they want to do their ,’ he said.

Johns – the youngest son of media identity Matty Johns – joined the Kyle and Jackie O radio show last year after hanging up his footy boots.
He also is the co-host of a successful podcast dubbed Backstage with Cooper and Matty Johns in addition to a weekly broadcast involving the entire Johns family.
Johns also raised eyebrows last year after declaring the NRL and AFL has plenty of homosexual and bisexual male stars who choose to stay in the closet.
‘They are definitely out there,’ he told listeners on Kyle and Jackie O’s radio program.
‘I’m not gonna say just in rugby league, because one of my gay friends down in Melbourne has had a couple of experiences with some AFL guys down there.
‘They very much remain very quiet about it. It is all done through Instagram.
‘There’s nothing public about it.’
No current AFL men’s players have publicly come out as gay, while Ian Roberts is the only NRL player to confirm his sexuality during his playing days.
