Conor McGregor shared a series of photos alongside David Beckham on his social media on Sunday.

The former UFC two-weight world champion is currently preparing for a return to the Octagon, more than four years since his last fight.

Reports earlier this month suggested that he had been cut from the UFC roster, though president Dana White later rubbished the claims.

On Instagram, the childhood Manchester United fan McGregor expressed his joy in meeting the former England captain and shared a number of snaps alongside Beckham and his young sons.

‘David Beckham, what a guy!’ McGregor wrote.

‘Great to meet you and the fam finally, a big inspiration for me growing up! The Beckham dynasty, an absolute powerhouse that COMMANDS FULL RESPECT!’

In addition to posing for pictures with Beckham’s two youngest sons, McGregor also shared snaps of a feast he had enjoyed on his luxury £2.7million Lamborghini vessel.

McGregor previously detailed his love for United, revealing that as a child he had bought the club’s grey kit that was infamously changed at half-time against Southampton in 1996.

‘I was more a player than a watcher back then, but Manchester United was my team,’ McGregor told FIFA in 2019.

‘It was only the other day I came across an old picture of myself wearing that infamous grey United jersey, which I bought with my [First Holy] Communion money at eight years of age.

‘I was attracted to the success and winning mentality of the club and people surrounded by United.’

Last month McGregor lost his attempt to overturn a jury’s order that he compensate a woman who accused him of raping her. The court rejected the appeal in its entirety.

Nikita Hand alleged that McGregor sexually assaulted her on December 9, 2018. He was found civilly liable back in November and three judges in Dublin rejected all five grounds of the MMA fighter’s appeal.

McGregor, 37, was ordered to pay nearly €250,000 (£216,000), plus costs after Ms Hand accused him of raping her at a hotel in Dublin in 2018. He denied the allegation and said he had ‘fully consensual sex’. He also denied causing bruising to the plaintiff.

McGregor was not present for last week’s decision, with Hand claiming she had been ‘retraumatised’ by the appeal.

‘To every survivor out there, I know how hard it is but please don’t be silenced. You deserve to be heard. You also deserve justice,’ she said.
