Washington Commanders player Deatrich Wise looked inconsolable as he lay on the turf after suffering a nasty injury against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.

Wise went down during the second quarter as he tried to block an extra point attempt by Packers kicker Brandon McManus.

Replays showed a Packers player land on Wise’s leg from behind while being tackled by a Commanders star, which forced it to bend awkwardly.

As medics rushed over to give him treatment on the field, it was clear that Wise was distraught.

His Commanders teammates stood nearby to offer support during the devastating scenes before Wise was carted off the field.

The former Patriots captain joined the Commanders this Mach, signing with the team on a one-year, $3.25million deal.

The 31-year-old defensive lineman had spent his entire career before that in New England after they selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
