The College Football Playoff committee has made the decision to move the location of the 2029 championship title game.
Tampa is slated to replace Dallas as the host city for the national championship game in four years’ time, according to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.
The committee has been forced into the change with Dallas no longer able to host in 2029 due to scheduling conflicts, the report added.
Tampa, along with Phoenix and Houston, had previously been selected as back-up sites to host a future national title game if the CFP’s original selected cities were no longer available.
This year’s title game, which will see Notre Dame go head-to-head with Ohio State, will take place in Atlanta Monday night.
Next year’s edition will still be held in Miami, while Las Vegas and New Orleans will host in 2027 and 2028 respectively as planned.
