A North Dakota State football player has been kicked off the team after being accused of stealing $270,000 of luxury items from a boat on a Minnesota lake on the Fourth of July.

William Frattalone, a 20-year-old former Bison cornerback, will be back in court this Thursday following his August arrest in his native Minnesota. He faces up to 20 years in prison and/or a $100,000 fine for a charge listed as: ‘Theft-Take/Use/Transfer Movable Prop-No Consent.’

A search warrant executed at Frattalone’s home in July led to the discovery of the bag and some of the valuables, although a Rolex valued at $227,999 remains missing, according to the criminal complaint obtained by Daily Mail.

Furthermore, police say they found video footage on Frattalone’s phone from inside the boat where the bag is believed to have been stolen. That footage captures the cubby where the alleged victim claimed to have put the bag in question.

Identified in the complaint as I.B., the reporting party allegedly told officers he’d brought the Louis Vuitton duffel onto a friend’s boat and stored it in the cabin as their group went to eat at Maynards.

When I.B. returned to the boat, he told officers, he discovered the $2,400 Louis Vuitton bag was missing. Additionally, he told police the bag contained his Rolex, $25,000 of clothing and between $5,000 and $10,000 worth of cash, as well as his passport, flash drives, car keys and headphones.

Frattalone was also aboard the boat, according to the complaint. But as the victim told The Minnesota Star Tribune: ‘We didn’t know who [Frattalone] was… He acted like he knew a bunch of people. He was shaking hands like he knew everyone.’

Police say Frattalone attempted to enter Maynards with that same Louis Vuitton duffel only for an employee to stop him at the door due to the establishment’s no-bag policy, according to the criminal complaint.

The complaint goes on to claim that Frattalone told the employee he was bringing the bag to his car, so staff escorted him through the restaurant, after which he left the premises entirely.

Another guest on the boat, identified in the complaint as S.P., was able to contact Frattalone about the missing bag, only for the suspect to suggest his wealthy parents could cover the victim’s losses.

‘The Defendant stated to S.P. that the Defendant’s parents were wealthy and would write a check for whatever was inside the bag,’ read the complaint. ‘[Another guest aboard the boat] responded that it was not about the money and that I.B. just wanted the bag and its contents returned. The Defendant did not return the bag.’

The alleged victim got Frattalone’s phone number through a mutual friend and gave him the chance to return the items, according to the Star Tribune, which published a screen grab of the text message.

‘Bro we have you on video taking the bag,’ read the message. ‘We can do this one of two ways. You can bring the bag back with everything that was in it with no hard feelings or I can continue with the police report and send them your info and go that route.’

The other party responded: ‘Hey man, I did not take anyone’s bag other than my own.’

Daily Mail has reached out to Frattalone’s attorney for comment.

NDSU football head coach Tim Polasek has since told KVRR that Frattalone was dismissed from the Bison and ‘will not be considered to re-join the team in any fashion.’

Frattalone is not the first NDSU player to be booted from the team this year.

Linebacker Jaiden Pickett faces up to five years in prison after authorities say he shot a bullet into a house, nearly wounding someone. The 19-year-old Milwaukee native remains behind bars in North Dakota on felony charges of terrorizing, reckless endangerment and theft of a firearm.

According to the incident report, Frattalone was also at the scene and was involved in a confrontation leading up to the shooting. However, Frattalone was never charged as part of the incident.

Pickett has denied shooting the firearm.

Frattalone’s Instagram page reveals a privileged life for a college football player, who has yet to appear in an actual game.

The redshirt freshman is pictured visiting President Donald Trump in the White House, hanging with former NFL MVP Cam Newton at the Preakness Stakes, and puffing on a cigar after NDSU’s 10th FCS national championship last January.
