Kansas City Chiefs pass rusher Chris Jones has rolled into Arrowhead Stadium and is ready to play after being listed on the team’s injury report late on Saturday evening.

Jones was placed on that list under the ‘non-injury related/personal’ designation as he flew to Mississippi to attend the funeral of his aunt.

Per ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, Jones’ flight back to Missouri was scheduled to arrive at 2:40pm local time (3:40pm ET) – roughly 30 or so minutes before kickoff.

Eventually, roughly 25 minutes before the game began, Jones was seen walking into Arrowhead Stadium – wearing a black suit, black tie, and white button-down shirt.

The team’s announcement led to some cause for concern among Chiefs fans – who feared Jones may miss the team’s Sunday matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

Later in the evening, CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson reported that Jones would be attending a family funeral.

Chiefs star Chris Jones arrived at Arrowhead Stadium after flying to Mississippi to attend the funeral of his aunt. Jones walked into the stadium less than half an hour before kickoff.

Jones' arrival will mean the Chiefs won't lose a key player for their game against the Ravens

It’s been a slow start to the season for the 31-year-old veteran – who is in his tenth season in the NFL.

So far, across three games, Jones has one sack and three tackles for a loss – but only five total tackles.

Jones is currently on pace to have the fewest total tackles he’s put up since the 2016 season and roughly the same number of sacks he had last season (5).

The Chiefs have sputtered at the start of their season – with the defending AFC Champions losing in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers and at home to the Philadelphia Eagles to open the campaign.

Last week, they finally got their first win of the season – a 22-9 beatdown of the New York Giants in the Meadowlands.

Fortunately for them, the Baltimore Ravens have not played much better.

Just like the Chiefs, the Ravens lost their first game of the season – a 41-40 thriller to the Buffalo Bills.

After beating the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens then lost at home to the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.

At Sunday’s end, one of the two favorites to win the Super Bowl this year (Ravens +550, Chiefs 13-1) will start their campaign 1-3.
