Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, has revealed how she has become ‘inseparable’ from new boyfriend during the NFL offseason.
In an exclusive interview with People, the 26-year-old reflected on a busy six months off the field, which included international travel, time with family and a blossoming romance with Derek Green, son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green.
‘Derek and I have known each other our whole lives,’ Hunt said. ‘We would actually play together as babies during the Chiefs’ Christmas parties every year, and then we reconnected as adults in 2017 and met on the sidelines pregame. We reconnected in early March and have been inseparable ever since.’
Green’s father led the Chiefs offense from 2001 to 2006, meaning the two families have long-standing ties within the organization.
While based in Dallas, Hunt said she took advantage of the offseason to escape the Texas heat and explore Europe, describing the trip as ‘so much fun.’
She also noted the experience of running into Chiefs fans abroad and hearing their stories, calling it a sign of the team’s growing international reach.

‘The Chiefs Kingdom is becoming the world’s team,’ she said.
But it wasn’t just travel and romance. Hunt said she used the offseason to reset and recharge – specifically focusing on faith, family and business.
‘Every offseason, my goal is to grow my faith, spend quality time with my family and friends, explore new business opportunities, and spend time in nature to recharge,’ she said. ‘That way, I’m ready to give my best in the upcoming season.’
The 2025-26 NFL season officially kicks off on September 4, with the Chiefs opening their campaign a day later on September 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil.
‘I don’t really ever truly stop thinking about football,’ Hunt added. ‘In its absence, the heart does grow fonder… and obviously, everyone in the offices in Kansas City never stops thinking about football.’
She said the ‘vibes are immaculate’ around the team as they prepare for another season, with a renewed focus across the organization.
‘Everyone has really focused on growing themselves as individuals and doing the best in whatever space of work we need to accomplish,’ she said. ‘What I’m most excited about for the Chiefs’ upcoming season is the chance to see the team continue to grow and compete at a high level.’
Hunt, the granddaughter of legendary Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt, has remained a prominent public face of the franchise and regularly represents the team at games.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Hunt made a playful jab at the outrage around Sydney Sweeney and her American Eagle jeans campaign.
Hunt, 26, the daughter of Chiefs owner Clark, shared an image to her Instagram posing in the street on a summer’s night, writing as the caption: ‘Denim days & dreamy nights. I like the view and my jeans (not American Eagles – but they are American).’
It comes after Hollywood star Sweeney fronted a new commerical with the brand to promote their jeans, which was branded ‘Nazi propaganda’ by some on the extreme left.
‘Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,’ Sydney said in the commercial. ‘My jeans are blue.’
