Chiefs fans rip their own team for cringe tweet about Philadelphia Eagles loss

The Kansas City Chiefs are being mocked on social media for their attempt to put a positive spin on Sunday’s defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Much like in Super Bowl LIX, the Chiefs fell to Philadelphia – albeit, by a much tighter margin this time than back in February.

The Chiefs were down ten points before quarterback Patrick Mahomes bombed a touchdown pass deep for Tyquan Thornton to cut the deficit to three points.

But they couldn’t recover the onside kick and the Eagles ran out the clock for the win.

On Wednesday, the Chiefs’ senior team reporter published an article with five facts from that defeat. The team account decided to take one of those facts and caption the tweet with it.

‘Our defense held the Eagles to their lowest offensive output since Week 6 of the 2021 season,’ the tweet said.

After the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Chiefs, Kansas City tried putting a positive spin on the defeat by posting a stat on their X account – which promptly drew mocking scorn

It got plenty of negative reaction from fans (including many of their own), who mocked the team for posting a fact like that after a defeat.

‘We f***ing lost, don’t post this stupid s*** admin,’ one Chiefs fan posted in response on X.

An Eagles fan said, ‘Damn. Surely y’all won the game then right?’

‘Chiefs taking moral victories lmfaoooo You gotta fight… for your right… To take a moral victory oh how the mighty have fallen,’ said another user.

A Broncos fan said, ‘Yall are diggin deep for some feel good news aren’t ya? Losers!!’

Much like the Super Bowl, Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes faced relentless pressure thanks to a porous offensive line which allowed two sacks and ten total quarterback hits.

So poor was the Chiefs front-seven that Kelce berated the group just before halftime, slamming his helmet to the ground before declaring, ‘I’m sick of this s***!’

Kelce would later make a major contribution of his own to the Eagles’ victory as a bobble on the doorstep of the end zone in the fourth quarter led to a tide-turning interception. The Eagles scored their final points of the game the next drive.
