The survey for sharing your opinions on Cheltenham’s green spaces will be available until 30 May 2025.
Do you love trees? What’s your favourite tree in town? Cheltenham Borough Council is reaching out to residents, businesses, and visitors to participate in a questionnaire to shape the town’s future tree strategy, aimed at enhancing the town’s green spaces.
Whether it’s the cherry tree that blooms magnificently in your mother’s garden or the stately oak you pass on your daily dog walk, each tree holds a unique place in our hearts and community, and we want you to have the opportunity to voice your thoughts and influence how these vital natural resources are managed.
Trees play a crucial role in enhancing our environment. They provide much-needed shade during the hot summer months, manage rainwater flow, and are vital habitats for wildlife, supporting biodiversity, and offer intangible benefits such as improving our mood and wellbeing.
Responses to the survey must be submitted by 30 May 2025, and information gathered will be used for informing a tree strategy, where your feedback will help guide decisions to benefit the entire community.
Tracey Birkinshaw, director of community and economic development, said: “We know that trees are important to Cheltenham, our residents, businesses, and visitors, and are a part of what makes our town special.
“To help us make sure we have the right steps in place for long-term management, we are preparing a tree strategy to help make decisions – from where we plant new trees to protecting old ones.”
