All eyes on Wembley
The time has come!
People may tell you that the FA Cup isn’t the same anymore, but I’m sorry, we all love when it’s final day. Pubs up and down the country will be full to the brim with footie fans getting a glimpse of what’s going on at Wembley.
Funny story, I once cancelled on a non-football fan friend when I realised it was the final that day. I can’t remember what excuse I made up, but all I know is that I ended up in a boozer with a beer in hand and my eyes on the screen.
Bad friend, I know, but that’s how big this game is.
Those days are long behind me, though. Now I get the pleasure of reporting on the big day, and I can’t emphasise just how excited I am for it.
Today, we see Manchester City take part in their fourth successive FA Cup final, looking to put the last two years of pain behind them, as they face a Chelsea side who are desperate for some silverware to save their season.
Many are expecting to see a City side secure a domestic double in style, sweeping aside a Blues team who have been utterly pathetic at times this season. Harsh but true.
But this is football, and as we know, anything can happen in these games. That’s why they are the best.
So, without further ado, let’s get cracking, shall we?
