Chelsea have entered talks with RB Leipzig regarding a potential swap deal for Xavi Simons.
As reported by The Guardian, the deal could see Christopher Nkunku return to Leipzig after two years at Stamford Bridge.
The German club are eager to re-sign Nkunku to replace Benjamin Sesko following the striker’s move to Manchester United.
Nkunku signed a six-year contract with Chelsea in 2023 after joining for £52million.
The versatile forward has found consistency difficult to come by at Chelsea and could now depart.
It had been anticipated that Simons would cost around £61million. Chelsea are now eager to include Nkunku, who they value at £40million, as part of the deal.
