Change of Representatives on South West Devon Waste Partnership (Joint Working Committee)

Decision Maker: Chief Executive

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

That the Membership of
the South West Devon Waste Partnership (Joint Working Committee) be
amended to include Councillors Billings and Tyerman as the
Council’s representatives with Councillor Atiya-Alla being
appointed as an observer.

Reasons for the decision:

The South West Devon Waste Partnership Joint Working
Agreement requires Torbay Council’s two representatives to be
Members of the Cabinet.

Alternative options considered:

Implementation:

This decision will
come into force immediately.

Information:

A review has been
undertaken on the governance arrangements for the South West Devon
Waste Partnership (SWDWP) (Joint Working Committee) in line with
the SWDWP Joint Working Agreement, which requires Torbay
Council’s two representatives to be Members of the Cabinet,
normally to include the Cabinet Member responsible for Waste, and
allows for a Member of the opposition to attend all meetings as an
observer.

It was therefore
proposed to amend the current Membership to ensure compliance with
the Joint Working Agreement.

The Group Leaders have
been consulted on this proposed change.
