Cesc Fabregas has responded firmly to reports linking Manchester United with a move for Como starlet Assane Diao – insisting the ambitious Serie A side have no intention of cashing in on their top young talents.
The 19-year-old winger, who represents Senegal at international level, has made an instant impact in Italy since joining Como from Real Betis in January for £10.5million.
Diao has scored six goals in just 13 Serie A outings, catching the eye with his electric pace and fearless attacking play.
His form has reportedly attracted attention from Old Trafford, with United said to be tracking the teenager as part of their summer rebuild.
Diao is said to have impressed United’s scouting network.
Reports in Portugal previously also claimed that United manager Ruben Amorim was a keen admirer of the winger.

But Como boss Cesc Fabregas is in no rush to sell his star players, including teenager Diao
But Como manager Fabregas has seemingly issued a hands-off warning to any potential suitors, by underlining his club’s desire to build around exciting young players rather than just selling them off for profit.
‘We are trying to go for young, talented players who were not playing: they do well here and obviously their value increases,’ Fabregas explained.
‘There is no mentality of speculating and selling, they come here to grow and improve the team. Then obviously, Manchester can come and ask for Diao by offering €40million, but it is not a given that he will leave.’
Diao was previously on Brentford’s radar during his time in Spain.
