Terence Crawford, born on September 28, 1987, in Omaha, Nebraska, U.S., began his professional boxing career at the age of 20. He made his debut on March 14, 2008, against Brian Cummings, stopping him with a first-round knockout.

By the time he had fought 23 times, Crawford, then 26 years old, captured his first world title. On March 1, 2014, he defeated Ricky Burns via a 12-round unanimous decision to claim the WBO lightweight championship.

Since then, he has gone on to become the first male fighter to be crowned the undispited champion in two different weight classes.
