Caitlin Clark’s teammates rally around Indiana Fever star as her dismal form continues

Caitlin Clark’s teammates have not sounded any long-term alarm bells about her current shooting slump, rallying around the Indiana Fever leader during this difficult stretch.

Clark’s dismal form continued on Tuesday night, despite the Fever defeated the Seattle Storm 94-86, with the point guard only contributing six points.

Despite Clark’s injury-return game against the New York Liberty on June 14, and the scrappy contest against the Connecticut Sun a few days later, the WNBA phenom’s usually sharpshooting touch has been anything but ironclad.

Against the Storm, Clark was 3-for-13 from the field, including an 0-of-6 mark from 3-point range.

In the Fever’s two previous games before Tuesday night’s victory, Clark combined for a 1-of-17 mark from beyond the arc, an unimaginable two-game line by the lofty standards set by the point guard.

‘She’ll be fine. We’re not worried about it,’ Fever teammate Lexie Hull said of Clark’s form.

From the field in the games against the Las Vegas Aces and the Golden State Valkyries, both Fever losses, Clark combined for a 10-for-34 mark from the field.

Clark’s next chance at redemption for her on-court form comes Thursday night in a favorable matchup, at home, against the Los Angeles Sparks

The Sparks enter the game with a 4-11 record and in 11th place in the league. Indiana is 7-7 overall, with the team holding a 3-2 record since Clark’s return from injury.

With Clark slumping, the duo of Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell have stepped up to provide massive scoring numbers.

The duo combined for 57 points against the Storm and 46 points in the loss to the Aces.
