Caitlin Clark will return for the Indiana Fever on Saturday after three weeks out of the lineup against the New York Liberty as she recovers from a quad injury.
Clark last suited up for the Fever against the Liberty on May 24, with her missing five games since the matchups with New York.
In those games, the Fever went 2-3, and are clinging to a playoff spot in the standings before a meeting with the defending WNBA champions.
Clark’s return was confirmed by Fever head coach Stephanie White in practice on Friday, ending the only time in the phenoms college or professional career she has missed an extended amount of time.
Clark also spoke at practice about ramping up to her on court return.
‘It’s definitely been a process,’ Clark said. ‘I think the hardest part is when you begin to feel really good, and then it’s just the process of working yourself back into actually getting up and down and getting out there with my teammates.’

‘And obviously that can be a little difficult, at the same time, when they’re prepping for their games that I’m not going to be available in.’
White also said she does not expect any regression from Clark that will keep her out of the lineup moving forward.
‘She’s working her way back,’ White added. ‘I felt like today was better than yesterday in terms of just movement, balance and feeling like she’s getting back into rhythm, timing, all those things. As long as we don’t have any regression, she’s going to be ready to roll.’
White’s teammate, Sophie Cunningham is also back to full strength after being out for several games with an ankle injury.
Indiana will not have every player available for Saturday’s game, as DeWanna Bonner has been away from the team for personal reasons.
